Definition - What does Stock Whip mean?

A stock whip is an Australian whip was originally designed to move groups of cattle using the loud crack it makes. It is still widely used today by Australian cattlemen, but is also used within the BDSM community as a pleasure/pain accessory.

A stock whip is typically made of red hide or green hide leather, and range in length from 3 - 10 feet. A standard stock whip is typically 6 feet long. The end of the whip, called the cracker or popper, has a twisted piece of short rope with a frayed end, which is what makes the cracking noise when the whip is used.
