Kinkly: Give us three words that describe your blog.

Justin: Honest, fun and real.

Kinkly: What inspired you to start the blog?

Justin: I first leaped into sex blogging a few years ago after my son was born and I wanted to try and document all that I knew at the time in a way that was never explained to me when I was younger. Then when he and my daughter were older I could just hand it to them with a note that said “Everything they won’t teach you about sex at school.” If others could learn from it as well or feel less “weird” then all the better! Sadly, life got in the way of that attempt. Last year, after finding myself with little to do outside of staying at home and looking after the children, I began writing sex toy reviews for a popular website.

Finding that I really enjoyed the experience, I continued for a few months before feeling the constraint of their rules and running afoul of other, hidden “rules.” I decided that I could do a better, more honest job, with the only ass to kiss or kick being my own on my own platform. Now, I've found myself where I was years ago: looking to create something that will help and inform others and ultimately be where I direct my children in the future.

Kinkly: What's behind the name?

Justin: The name was a happy accident. I have used the same handle for online games and forums for years, but every now and again someone would have already taken it and I would use “Indecerous” in its place, a misspelling of “indecorous.” While I was trying to think of something witty, funny, or even slightly descriptive of what the blog would be about I wrote, out of frustration “Just Indecerous” along with several colorful words.

Later I came back to the list of potential names and as I read them back I noticed that if I read “Just Indecerous” quickly it sounded like “Justin Decerous.” So without meaning to, I had given myself a pseudonym, something that I had never intended to use, but rolled off the tongue nicely and it would have been silly to pass it up.

Kinkly: Who's your target reader?

Justin: Initially when I started writing the blog I wanted whatever I wrote to be accessible to anyone, but particularly to those participating in or interested in BDSM. Almost everything I do is from the perspective of a straight, dominant guy and that heavily influences the content that I create. At present, the numbers suggest that my writing attracts a pretty equal male/female split and my videos are mainly watched by males. So I am currently focusing video content towards guys in particular, whereas my writing continues as it always has, catering to anyone. They can take or leave what they wish.

Kinkly: What's unique about your blog?

Justin: Most people tell me that they really like the way that I write or how I talk in videos, which is, as best I can describe it, “real.” People seem to enjoy that I don’t take myself seriously at all and will write and talk as I do in my daily life. I know the correct scientific words, but that’s not how I talk. So I generally don’t use them. While I make every effort to be respectful to the topic or review, I refuse to act in whatever anyone else deems to be a “professional” manner and people seem to like that. It’s all easy to understand and with less off the fluff. If you happen to be a geek as well, you will find plenty of geeky references throughout because I can’t help myself.

Kinkly: What is the topic you find yourself covering most often and why?

Justin: At the moment I would say that a lot of my content is covering guys using sex toys and I think that it is a very rapidly emerging market. There have always been sex toys for dudes, but we have yet to have our “Sex & the City” moment that brought the rampant rabbit to the mainstream and with it a level of social acceptance for the ladies and their sex toys. For the guys, the industry has made leaps and bounds from the crappy inflatable love dolls, though they are still available, but sadly the idea of dudes using sex toys to enhance their pleasure is still a taboo that I would love to have a hand, fist, or chainsword in shattering.

Kinkly: What was your most popular post ever? Why do you think it drew so many readers?

Justin: My most popular post thus far is “Some Time With Whiplr” which is a fetish based dating app. While not necessarily a review, it was more a document of my experiences with the app, how it it worked, where it didn’t, and my interactions with other people on there. A lot of people use FetLife as a way of finding their kinky partners which, given the content that can be found on the site, isn’t likely to see an app anytime soon. It is clear that in an age where there is an app for everything, people are looking for that easy to access kinky dating app and are curious as to how well it works.

In terms of videos, my review of the ElectraStim Jack Socket has been extremely popular and within only a couple of months eclipsed almost everything else on the site, which has been fantastic to see. Strokers and electrosex are very popular types of toys and I can’t believe that anyone hadn’t already thought up the idea of combining the two. The amount of interest in it has been exciting to see as I am a very big fan of electro sex both used on myself and with my play partners.

Kinkly: What's the best thing about writing a sex blog?

Justin: I get to pleasure myself and my play partners then talk about it and people want to hear about it all. As I said earlier, I don’t take myself all that seriously and there is something beautifully absurd about being able to listen to a friend tell me about their day of 9-5 in a cubicle with crap coffee from a vending machine. Then have them ask what I got up to and respond with, “I stuck something up my rear end and then did a workout to see if it was comfortable.” Then having the same person a week later thanking me because they decided to try a butt plug for the first time, enjoyed it and finding that I have helped them open up a whole new sexual experience.

Kinkly: What's the worst thing about it?

Justin: Exposure, a mystical currency that certain people and companies like to offer in exchange for your work. While I certainly don’t get offered as much exposure as more prominent, very talented, and well-known bloggers, at least the gold I gain playing Dungeons & Dragons will buy me a cool imaginary sword.

Kinkly: OK, now for the good stuff: Give us your best tip for great sex.

Justin: Don’t overthink what you are doing, keep an open mind, keep communication between you and your partner open, and remember that the largest erogenous zone (told you I knew the big words) is the mind. Stimulate that and everything else comes (or cums) easy.
