The Crisscross Position

Updated: APRIL 24, 2024

The crisscross is a rear-entry position where the receiver lies down on their side, facing away from the giver with legs slightly parted. The giver also lies on their side but at a right angle to their partner. This position works for both anal and vaginal sex.

The crisscross position is also called the X position.

More About The Crisscross Position

To get into this position, face one another while sitting on the bed with legs outstretched. The penetrating partner lifts their left leg over the right leg of the receiving partner, and the receiving partner lifts their right leg over the penetrating partner's left leg. From here, both partners come together to enter and lie back, forming an X. Normal thrusting is not possible from this position, so slow gyrations take their place. Partners can reach out and hold hands and pull each other together for deeper penetration.
