Definition - What does Autosadism mean?

Autosadism refers to a sexual arousal based upon the infliction of pain upon self. This can be used as a general term to describe any sexual paraphilia that has to do with self-infliction of pain.

Kinkly explains Autosadism

Autosadism can be used as a general term to describe the paraphilias of self-mutilation, autoflagellation, asphyxiophilia, and apotemnophilia. Autosadism can be associated with any type of self-harm or self-inflicted humiliation if one derives sexual pleasure from it.

Generally, this sexual preference is not considered a paraphilia. However, it can be dangerous in more extreme cases where individuals may accidentally kill themselves or inflict an injury upon themselves from which there is no recovery.
