Can a Masturbation Sleeve Really Mimic Anal Sex?

Published: OCTOBER 26, 2023
Anal sex provides a unique sensation that many people love. The new Chrysm sleeve by The Handy could be the next best thing.

Earlier this month, I tried out the Handsfree Desk Mount attachment for The Handy, a nifty device that allows you go fully hands-free with this high-tech masturbation machine. I definitely love that addition, but it isn't the only dreamy newcomer The Handy has for your set up.

Most recently, I got to try out the new Chrysm sleeve. Let me tell you, it is a must-have for penis-stroking pleasure, particularly if you are a fan of anal sex sensations.

But let's not move to fast! In case you missed my previous review of the The Handy unit itself, what you need to know is that this is a very strong automatic stroker that will rival any other on the market. With the ability to stroke short or deep, slow, fast and at warp speed, it will definitely please a wide variety of users. Just plug it in and let the pleasure take you away! Users can pick the type of sleeve they prefer, strap it in and sit back. One of the best parts of the Handy experience is the variety of different sleeves to complement the toy's unlimited pleasure potential.

The Handy Sleeve: Meet Chrysm

The Chrysm sleeve is an excellent addition to using The Handy. Penis sleeves have come a long way in terms of quality and texture, and this new penis hugger is a pure delight. Strap it into the main unit and it will glide effortlessly up and down, with some nice features that are sure to please.

As the latest addition to The Handy's Dream Sleeves Collection, Chrysm is made of body-safe TPE and the company recommends the use of a water-based lubricant for best results. (That's HIGHLY recommended for real anal play as well, by the way!) But what makes Chrysm stand out is that its designed is inspired by the anal canal.

OK, so does it mimic the sensations of anal sex?

To me, yes, it does conjure up memories of real anal play.

If you haven't tried it before (and even if you have!) anal penetration is an entirely unique sexual experience that does not compare to other types of sex for the person who is doing the penetrating. Whereas vaginal penetration is an encompassing sensation and oral sex is a variety-focused sensation, anal penetration's pleasure is centered around a tight ring that glides up and down the shaft of the penis, as well as the head (upon first entering). The required lube allows for easy movement, but the penis is still hugged very tightly in a small area at a time. Because the anal cavity tends to feel roomier than the vaginal canal, the head of the penis can connect with different parts of the cavity in a more random way. This - along with the taboo nature of anal play - is what makes the activity so compelling.

Other tips and sleeves I've tried in the past haven't quite lived up to the hype, but aspects of the Chrysm, chiefly the tight opening, does have a delightfully familiar feel to it. The entrance is thick enough to feel like the external and internal sphincter of the anus. Personally speaking, touching and pushing through this sensitive area with a sensitive penis is my favorite part of anal penetration! Having that replicated is a pleasure I greatly appreciate.

The entrance is thick enough to feel like the external and internal anal sphincter of the anus. Personally speaking, touching and pushing through this sensitive area with a sensitive penis is my favorite part of anal penetration!

In addition to the tight entrance, the Chrysm also features varying textures throughout its interior surface, which are also designed to mimic anal penetration. This description confused me a bit, I have to admit. I've never experienced a whole lot of varying texture when my cock has been inside someone's ass … and I've not noticed a lot when exploring my own. That said, I ain't sneezing at this addition to the Chrysm - these nubs and bumps feel great! While the tight ring glides tightly up your shaft, the texture stimulated the head in truly magnificent ways!

Another strong feature of the Chrysm is that it has a small hole to allow air to escape after the penis is inserted. This is my main bugaboo with penis sleeves. When air gets in, you inevitable lose some of the tightness and then you have to squish it out. It makes the whole experience far less enjoyable when you're mitigating functionality instead of just enjoying the sensations. I found this little air hole particularly useful when I tried the Chrysm away from The Handy, and just used it with my hand. I wanted to feel how the sleeve reacted to a variety of pressures. This handjob action does let in more air, but the escape hatch let me squeeze it out, which then gave ne more pleasure! Win-win!The Handy Chrysm Sleeve: A Win-Win

Indeed, win-win is the best way to describe the Chrysm sleeve and the whole experience The Handy provides. The main unit is solid (and I am sure will continue to get better), the Handsfree Desk Mount is great and the Chrysm is awesome!
