Cons: Charging pins are a bit tricky, and the Smart Silence piece can confuse you at first

Do you believe in magic? Well, magical is the adjective I would use to describe the beauty that is the Womanizer Duo. I had wanted a Womanizer for years now, hearing story after story and reading research on the measurable impact it has had on clitorises all over the planet.

In the world of sex toys, this is a Tesla Roadster - fast, beautiful and with a well-deserved reputation for excellence.

The problem for me has always been the price; these are not cheap little gems (Duo retails for $219 in the Kinkly Shop). The good news is, you get what you pay for. As soon as it arrived, I knew this was different than any sex toy I had used before. Even the packaging was beautiful and intentionally designed to be aesthetically pleasing. The lovely, dark purple box it came in was sleek and engaging. A window into the contents of the box immediately made me excited to explore more. On the side, a small ribbon handle pulls open a drawer where the toy, the charger, instruction manual, and black tasseled satin and leather carrying case rest inside.

The Womanizer Duo in Use

I was a little intimidated by the size of this toy. Because this version of the Womanizer has both the traditional Pleasure Air head that does otherworldly things to your clit and an internal piece that stimulates the G-spot (a.k.a urethral sponge) it looks pretty large, especially when I imagined how it would all fit in my vagina and over my vulva. My toy came in black, which made it look very classy but also almost ominous and medical. I felt like I was about to place a piece of alien technology on my most personal and sensitive body parts.

This baby isn't petite!

But before that happened, the first thing I did with the Womanizer Duo was charge it - and herein lies my only complaint with this toy. The charger is two magnetic pins that have to line up just right to work. When it is charging correctly, you will see a light blinking within the stimulator head. Secondly, even though I read the instruction manual, I did not understand that this toy must sense something on the stimulator head before it starts vibrating, which initially lead me to believe it hadn't charged at all or was broken.

I charged the Duo, turned it on and ... nothing happened. It wasn’t until my finger happened to move over the stimulator head that I felt it vibrating and understood what the directions had meant when they mentioned this Smart Silence technology. As it turns out, the toy is purposely designed this way so that it only starts buzzing when you are actually using it.

The controls on the Duo were pretty easy to figure out right off the bat, which I was grateful for; no one wants to have their pleasure complicated by tricky instructions. There is an ON button at the very back of the Pleasure Air head and then three buttons at the top, one for each of the functions: the clitoral stimulator, the internal G-spot arm and a third button that changes the patterns of vibration. Theses buttons offer 12 different options and the toy comes with two slightly different heads on the Pleasure Air part, making this a truly customizable experience. You can even set the toy to remember your last combination of settings so you can pick up right where you left off!

The blended simulation from the two pleasure points is amazing! I have masturbated with two hands before, trying to get a similar feeling, but this is all of that times 10 - without hand cramps. It even stayed perfectly in place leaving me free to just literally sit back and enjoy the ride to orgasm town.

What does using the Womanizer feel like?

When I was researching the Womanizer, I tried to find a solid description of the Pleasure Air technology. What made it so amazing and so unique? I heard over and over that it was like nothing else people had ever tried before, but no one could accurately say how.

The fact is, it is hard to explain. It feels like a pulsing, sucking motion that is drawing your clit into a vortex of ecstasy. But the weird thing is, I generally hate having my clit sucked on directly, so I was surprised that I liked it so much. I absolutely loved having that paired with a vibrating internal part that was curved just right to give me that coveted blended orgasm.

Full disclosure: I orgasm easily and quickly as is, so my experience is, of course, only my own. The really cool thing is that the Womanizer company did clinical research on their product in partnership with Dr. Laura Berman, so we know from research that this toy is very effective for many vulva owners.

For me, every time I have used it I climaxed within a minute. Seriously. My primary partner observed me using it the first time and said, “That’s almost not fair. I have to work to make you cum, and this makes it look too easy.” Of course, they were kidding, but it's kind of true; this toy makes orgasms look like something you can simply turn on with the flip of a switch, and in this case, you practically can.

I highly recommend this toy to anyone with a clitoris. If you struggle to climax during solo or partnered sex or even with a traditional vibrator, this toy is worth a try. Pleasure is a human right, and the Womanizer is leading the march in closing the orgasm gap.
