Continuous abstinence is refraining entirely from all sex play with partners. This is not to be confused with periodic abstinence which may be practiced in some forms of fertility awareness based contraception methods.

More About Continuous Abstinence

Often taught as a safe, effective, free, and easy way to be 100% safe against STIs and unplanned pregnancy, many find continuous abstinence to be an unrealistic goal. Unfortunately, many who aim to be abstinent find themselves unprepared to actually protect themselves against pregnancy and disease if they do choose to engage sexually.
