Kinkly explains Gynecologist

Many gynecologists are also obstetricians. Obstetricians (commonly referred to as an OB) are doctors that deliver babies. In those instances they are referred to as an OB/GYN. A gynecologist is usually involved in the diagnosis of various different disorders and dysfunctions relating to the female reproductive system. This might include things like infertility or ovarian cysts. If the gynecologist is also an OB, the doctor might be with a patient from birth control to pregnancy to delivery depending on the individual. OB/GYNs also perfom abortions.
