Gender fluidity refers to a lack of boundaries, or recognition of boundaries, within the male-female gender binary. Individuals who demonstrate gender fluidity may not acknowledge gender role norms or identify with one specific gender.

Gender fluidity refers to an individual's expression of both male and female gender qualities and identities without distinction. An individual who feels like a female one day and a male the next. They do not feel the need to fulfill any cultural norms or expectations with regards to male/female gender expression. These individuals view gender as a spectrum rather than as a strict male-female binary.
