Lithromantic, also known as akoiromantic or apromantic, is an aromantic orientation in which someone is romantically attracted to another person but does not wish for that attraction to be reciprocated. A lithromantic's feelings of attraction may fade when they are reciprocated, or they may just prefer not to act on their sense of attraction. Overall, lithromantics enjoy the feeling of attraction, but may be uncomfortable with having a romantic relationship or experiencing the return of intimacy.

Lithromantics can identify as any sexual orientation.

The term is believed to have been coined on Tumblr in 2016, deriving from the Greek word "lithos," which means "stone."

More About Lithromantic

There is limited verifiable information about this term, but some people believe lithoromanticism is related to stone sexuality, an orientation most commonly used in the lesbian community.

Some members of the lesbian community believe using this term outside this community is appropriation. To avoid causing offense, some people who do not identify as lesbian prefer using more neutral synonyms like akoiromantic or apromantic.

The lithoromantic orientation has been associated with a number of different flags.
