Erotic Target Location Error

Updated: NOVEMBER 23, 2015

Erotic target location error is a concept suggested by Ray Blanchard, an American-Canadian sexologist, who suggested that humans sometimes erroneously locate their erotic targets in an environment. For example, instead of concentrating on the sexual partner, the individual is focused on other things in the environment such as the partner's clothing, feet, jewelry, or other things in the periphery. This theory is sometimes viewed as an explanation as to why fetishes develop.

More About Erotic Target Location Error

Erotic target location error is a sexual preference and strong focus on features that are located elsewhere than one's sexual partner. This phenomenon is meant to explain sexual obsessions and fantasies outside of one's sexual partner.
