Gag Reflex

Updated: SEPTEMBER 21, 2020

A gag reflex is the body's natural reaction to a foreign object touching the back of the throat and tongue, the roof of the mouth, or the tonsils area. It is also called the laryngeal spasm or pharyngeal reflex. It protects a person from choking by trying to expel the foreign object out of one's mouth.

More About Gag Reflex

Fellatio can cause a gag reflex of the giver, especially deep throating. This can happen if the giver is inexperienced, if the penis is too big, or if the thrusting is too erratic. Although it can ruin the mood for some, others find it highly erotic. Talk with your partner and slow down if the gag reflex is interrupting the moment.
