Agonophilia

Definition - What does Agonophilia mean?

Agonophilia refers to sexual desire that stems from pretend sexual violence, such as pretend rape and pretend fighting. People who experience agonophilia are aroused by the struggle and the feeling of power over another person. So, scripted sexual encounters are common. A willing partner will pretend to resist one's advances before giving in. The “struggle” may involve BDSM practices and devices, such as cuffs and chains.

Kinkly explains Agonophilia

The confusing aspect of agonophilia is when one has to distinguish between pretend sexual violence and real violence. The line has to be clear between a person with agonophilia and their sexual partners. Guidelines and limitations need to be agreed upon before sex; and these need to be followed. It is also a good idea to have a safe word just in case things get too intense.
