A stone butch refers to the most masculine lesbians who do not allow their partners to touch them as a woman is traditionally touched. Stone butch women may or may not identify as transgender.

Individuals that identify as stone butch typically are not comfortable with their female bodies. Generally, stone butch women do not allow their partners to reciprocate sexual activities, and may or may not be sexually aggressive. Some stone butch individuals might appear to be men, though have not undergone any hormone therapy or gender reassignment surgeries. Typically, stone butches will have questioned their gender at some point or another as they are have very masculine gender expressions.
