Sex Stories We Love: Body Image, Maslow's Hierarchy of Sex, and a New Sensation in Hand Jobs

The spectrum of sex is so broad that we couldn’t find one underlying theme to tie in all of this week’s Sex Stories We Love. In fact, many of these stories are unlike any others we’ve covered in this weekly roundup or Kinkly’s regular content. Let’s just say that this week’s stories are what makes sex so novel, diverse, and interesting.

Stripping Down Stigmas

Rachelle Friedman Chapman was 24 years old when she was paralyzed from the chest down after an accident the night of her bachelorette party in 2010. But that didn’t stop her from getting married, becoming a mother, and thinking of herself as an attractive and sexual woman. To prove her point, she had some boudoir pictures taken of herself and shared them and her thoughts on disabling the unsexy stigma of disability.

“I think a lot of people have a hard time seeing through the wheelchair so here I am, this is me without the chair,” Chapman told The Huffington Post. “But I'm actually the exact same person. I hope it will make people think. People with disabilities still have sexuality and honestly I'm tired of being something that we can't talk about as a society."

Does it really have to come down to stripping down to her skivvies to make that point? Perhaps, but her photos and what she has to say are a very SFW conversation that she feels needs to be had about sex and disabled people in our society. (What is NSFW? from our sex dictionary)

Big Thoughts on Fat Dating

We can all laugh at ourselves by being caught up and distraught over the breakup of Miss Piggy and Kermit. As fictional as their relationship was, it has real significance for Kitty Stryker. Growing up with "The Muppet Show" in the '80s, she saw the pig and frog couple as “a validation that fat femmes could be loved, were worth being in a relationship with, even.” However, as an adult, Kitty says, “Piggy and Kermit’s dynamic is one where the fat femme is constantly chasing a man who puts her down, uses his power as her boss to manipulate her, refuses to acknowledge her as a lover, and makes fun of her weight. She shouldn’t settle for his asshole behaviour, and neither should I, or anyone.” Call the breakup of the 30-plus-year relationship a marketing or publicity stunt all you want, but maybe it had to happen for the sake of truly wholesome, family-friendly entertainment.

So often, we equate penis play during foreplay with a vigorous hand job or blow job with the goal of getting a guy erect or to orgasm. However, there’s a different kind of high that comes from a slower, relaxing, and meditative form of sex. Getting Anal About HIV Prevention

Currently, there are clinical trials going on in the development of a microbicidal anal lube that could ward off HIV. Upcoming trials include one study of couples who apply the lube with fingers and penises and another group of testers that use an applicator to insert the lube rectally to determine the best way for this lube to be effectively applied. Apparently, there was some squawking about the applicator method not being very sexy, but barriers methods can be broken, and that won't ward off HIV. At least researchers are trying to get down to the bottom of this dilemma by creating a product that actually kills the HIV virus.

Fake vs. Real Sex Scandals

Let’s say you’re a male conservative state Republican legislator. Which sex scandal could be more damaging – the revelation that you’ve been hooking up with a female colleague representatives or having sex with a male prostitute? Michigan Rep. Todd Courser tried covering up his affair with Rep. Cindy Gamrat with a fake leak of a gay hookup. It could have worked until The Detroit News obtained a tape of Courser and an aide plotting the fake scandal. Talk about the scandal to end all scandals!
