An FMF (or female-male-female) threesome is a threesome that involves two females and a male. The letters FMF are placed in this order deliberately; in threesome lingo, the letter in the middle - in this case, it refers to the male participant - is supposed to be the focus of the threesome. To many this means that in an FMF threesome, the female participants do not interact sexually with each other. This would, however, happen in an FFM threesome. Other types of threesomes include FFM, MFM, MMF and MMM.

Some people see FMF threesomes as being a purely male fantasy, and not about female pleasure. However, this really depends on the values of the people involved, and how the threesome is negotiated among them. FMF threesomes can include a range of different activities that are up to the participants involved. FMF threesomes are common in pornography.

A single person (most often a woman) who joins a couple for a threesome is often called a "unicorn" because this type of person is considered hard to find. In fact, the ability to find a threesome partner can be the hardest part in terms of making this fantasy a reality.

More About FMF Threesome

A 2017 survey found that 18% of men and 10% of women had had a threesome; 34% of men and 11% of women said the idea appealed to them. As a form of group sex, threesomes can occur in private situations, such as when a couple recruits a friend, acquaintance or casual hookup as a threesome participant. They may also occur at swingers' or sex parties.

When considering a threesome, it is important to ensure good communication and boundaries between all participants. This means understanding what each person in the threesome is or isn't willing to do. While threesomes offer a huge range of sexual possibilities, there is a wrong way to have one in terms of taking care of all participants' needs and boundaries.
