Ursusagalmatophilia is a sexual fetish whereby an individual is sexually aroused by or interested in dressing up as animals. These individuals call themselves plushies or furries. Ursusagalmatophilia is sometimes confused with, but is distinct from zoophilia, which is a fetish for live animals.
Ursusagalmatophilia is surprisingly common. It is rarely talked about in public circles. Those with this particular fetish typically surround themselves with likeminded individuals, and participate in plushie groups. There are plushie conventions where those with the fetish gather to meet other individuals with similar sexual interests.
