In BSDM, a houseboy is a submissive who may live with a dominant and perform everyday chores such as dishwashing or cleaning, and making himself available to perform sexual activities for the dominant. This is a dominant/submissive relationship.
A houseboy's master may be a man or woman. In some cases, the houseboy may not even have a sexual relationship with his master. In the gay community, a houseboy is usually a younger gay male, while his master (or "host") is often older, wealthy, and gay. In this case, while the relationship may not be romantic, the relationship tends to include personal intimacy.
