Erotophobia

Erotophobia is, simply put, a fear of sex. It is an umbrella term that encompasses many specific sex related fears and phobias.

The term is used in both a psychological and political context. In the psychological context, it is applied to fears and phobias that may affect one's ability to engage in romantic and/or sexual relationships. In a political context, the term is applied to sex-negative attitudes that may be seen as oppressive.

Some examples of psychological manifestations of erotophobia are genophobia, paraphobia, haphephobia, gymnophobia, philemaphobia, fear of intimacy, and fear of vulnerability. Political manifestations include homophobia, fear of sex-related disourse, and fear of sexual education.
