Kinkly explains Gender Variant

Gender variant is generally used to describe any gender role behavior that falls outside of heteronormative behavior. This term can refer to any behavior that differs from social norms with regards to gender roles. The term gender non-conforming is often preferred as, unlike gender variant, it does not imply certain standards of gender normativity.
