Algolagnia is a fetish or sexual tendency where one derives sexual pleasure from pain inflicted on one's body, frequently involving erogeneous zones. It is believed to be an uncontrollable physical phenomenon in which the brain interprets painful feelings as pleasurable ones. Algolagniacs experience pleasure from the actual sensation, rather than the idea, of pain.
