Definition - What does Sperm mean?

The sperm is the male reproductive cell. It comes from sperma, which is Greek for the word “seed.” In human males, the sperm has 23 chromosomes that can merge with the female egg's 23 chromosomes to form a diploid cell. The sperm is a necessary component in mammalian reproduction. Sperm quantity and quality are very important for pregnancy. Only one sperm can fertilize a female's egg.

Kinkly explains Sperm

Sperm quality and quantity determine semen quality and its ability to fertilize an egg. There are several factors that affect sperm quality and quantity. Foremost here is age. As a man grows older, his sperm becomes less potent. Other factors that affect the sperm include engaging in intercourse more than masturbation, heat, and physical trauma.
