After Daniel Pierce, 19, of Georgia released a video of his family members verbally and physically abusing him when he came out to them, his boyfriend set up a GoFundMe page requesting $2,000 for Daniel to start a life on his own. Eight days later the GoFundMe request overshot its goal by over $91,000. The love and acceptance of people Daniel didn’t even know, blew him away. He has asked people to stop donating to the GoFundMe page and donate money to Atlanta-based Lost-n-Found, an organization that has assisted more than 400 disowned gay teens since 2011.
