Sex Stories We Love: Hometown Porn Hero, Sperm Races and Misconceptions About Sex

Published: AUGUST 19, 2014 | Updated: FEBRUARY 14, 2022
I just recently discovered that if I turn my Facebook feed to "Top Stories" instead of "Most Recent" I get a veritable orgy of sex stories. I follow good folks! This definitely helps my research and helps me bring lots of new stories to you. Here are the top stories I found this past week. Hometown Porn Hero

I WANT this to happen. Not only because it will be funny and awesome, but I think a place like Brantford could really use it!

Sure, some might know Brantford as the home of hockey superstar Wayne Gretzky and the birthplace of the telephone, but in recent decades the place has struggled. However, if noted Canadian-lover Kevin Smith chooses to dip back into the porn story world, I hope he does it here! Smith’s previous sex-related work "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" was a fun foray into filmed fuckery and I think he could provide a unique take on the idea of a porn star’s homecoming. Not only might the film stimulate conversation, it just might help Brantford out.Sperm Races

It seems even sperm want a wingman ... er ... wingsperm.

A recent study out of Harvard shows that sperm sometimes travel the vaginal tract in groups - and that the optimal sperm gang size is seven. This seems to contradict commonly held belief that sperm are, by nature, always fighting against each other trying to be the first to reach the egg. Funny thing is, we usually think animals that are promiscuous have battle royales happening between the various deposited sperm. Instead, the sperm from the same male cooperate to get to the egg first. When the sperm from only one male are present, clumping isn’t as obvious.

Hasen’t everyone had one of these thoughts - one of these misconceptions about sex? It could have been when you were young, or maybe even as an adult. Sometimes it's schoolyard misunderstanding, sometimes you’re tricked. Sometimes you just completely misinterpret a common phrase.

That was me. When I first heard the term "blow job," I had no idea what it meant. I mean, it didn’t take long to figure out that it involved a cock and a mouth ... but the blow part had me baffled. I mean ... mouth on cock ... where would the air go? In the penis???

Fortunately, I figured it out before I first experienced one. (Need some info? Read The Ultimate Guide to Giving a Great Blow Job.)Bound by Images

Sometimes you just need to sit back and look at sex. I’m not talking about porn, per se, but we spend a lot of time discussing sex. Maybe we need to sit back and take in some visual representations. Photographer Peter Lichtreich is masterful in capturing the essence of many different aspects of men and BDSM. Surely his work will stimulate more discussion, but it is also delightful to submit to it silently.Silver Linings

Relationships can be hard. Sex can be hard.

It's impossible to unsee the brutal images of a broken Christy Mack. The injuries she suffered, allegedly at the hands of her ex-boyfriend, are staggering. So too, is the media reaction to this crime.

Yes, Christy Mack is a porn performer. That is her job. Is it necessary to preface her name with her job title every time she is written about?

Hell, no. It is not necessary at all.

By always referring to her as “Porn Star Christy Mack,” media are capitalizing on naughty words and taking advantage of a heinous situation to grab readers. Other victims are not treated as such. Christy’s job had nothing to do with this attack and the emphasis on her job has allowed trolls to blame her, shame her, mock her and sometimes justify her attacker.

Christy Mack is no longer a victim in this incident - she’s a commodity.
