The only constant is change. The only constant in sex is change...and that we’ll find ways to pornify every type of change. Change is happening all around us in terms of sex and is leading to many more options for everyone! That's the theme of this week's Sex Stories We Love.

Never Too Old

Aging and sex is a bit of a conundrum in current times. Of course, older folks have been getting it on forever, but nobody ever talked about it or considered it so, obviously, it wasn’t really happening. Except it was, and it still is. With a Baby Boomer population that is aging and transitioning to retirement homes and care facilities, seniors having sex is a reality that needs to be discussed. Now that the idea that we stop having sex in middle age is being debunked, both residents and institutions are working on ways to ensure that older folks can be afforded the necessary time and space to enjoy carnal activities. The potential to allow this will greatly depend on the facilities and on agin residents' ability to consent. These are all hurdles to overcome to ensure our later years are golden with afterglow.

Powering On

With each new form of communication that humans develop, you know that the porny version is soon to follow. Cave paintings? Yup. Hieroglyphics? For sure. Written literature? Indeed. Film? Uh huh. Computers? Of course! When computers became something people could afford to have in their homes, programs delivered on 5.25” disks were all the rage. And, of course, it didn’t take long for developers to add a sexy spin to things, with the popular Leisure Suit Larry series. Yet there were others and with the current fad of retrogaming and vintage computer repair, it is interesting to read that an early game, MacPlaymate, was all about making a virtual woman orgasm to win. There’s even some kink in there! Sure it probably doesn’t compare to today’s virtual offerings, but it is just another example of sex leading the way in tech and communication.

Peek at You?

Speaking of gaming and sex, has anyone been down for some Pokemon Go and Blow? This clunky phrase attempts to capitalize on the popularity of the Netflix and Chill craze coupled with the much bigger fad of Pokemon Go. Yup, you can find other folks who are out there hunting virtual Pokemons and then take a break for some different action. Ads are popping up across the Internet from people who are looking to combine their loves of Pokemon hunting and sex. How long will it be before developers hack Pokemon Go with a porny version ... perhaps combining it with something like Tinder …

Gearing Up

If Pokemon Go isn’t your thing and you’d rather stick with good, old traditional porn, well, you’ve gotta know that porn is changing at a rapid pace to keep up with technology too! Sure, there’s plenty of standard porn online, and even DVDs for the folks who prefer that medium. However, if you want to experience the cutting-edge possibilities that porn offers, now is the time to explore virtual reality porn. Not only is the technology advancing into sexy new realms of potential, but hey, the time is right for a deal! In an effort to attract subscribers, many VR porn sites are offering various levels and qualities of free VR headsets if you sign up. Now, you’re not going to be getting an Oculus Rift or anything, but you will get to see performers in new and exciting ways.

A Bad Name?

Condoms are also changing significantly these days...or, at least, people are trying to change them. After the Gates Foundation doled out money to developers, some results are starting to see the light of day - but many are still a long way off from realizing their potential. One new design (not from the Gates money) that has definitely gotten a lot of buzz is the new HEX from prominent sex toy company LELO. It sounds like an interesting premise and could provide the wearer with increased erotic sensation. There has been some controversy around LELO's campaign, but the product is getting a largely positive response. It is interesting to read one couple’s experience with a Hex condom, and like the others, I hope they move forward to bring safer sex options to many...

Free for All

It is very disheartening to hear that Republicans in Colorado have voted down bridge funding that would have kept a very positive free condom initiative prospering. Instead, officials are left scrambling to find the best way to keep a program afloat, despite the fact that it has contributed to a 40% drop in unintended pregnancies and a 42% drop in abortions in a four-year period. Surely, the same old crap about how giving away free birth control will lead to promiscuity arguments came up despite that idea having been disproved in studies as well. It is remarkable how people just don’t see that free access to birth control is an effective way to handle the above-mentioned concerns and the spread of STIs. We love sex, but sex has issues. Take care of the issues and we can love sex more!
