Dear Santa, I Want a Stronic Drei (and a Pony!)

Published: DECEMBER 12, 2013 | Updated: JUNE 8, 2022 01:20:50
This toy is bound to end up under the trees of many folks who are on the "nice" list ... and probably even more who are on the "naughty" one.

This is part of our "Dear Santa" blog series, where some of the Web's top sex toy reviewers are picking out their favorite, most gift-worthy toys this year. So go ahead and stuff someone's stocking with something nice, will ya? 'Tis the season for sexy fun! Here's Redhead Bedhead with her top gift pick.

The Fun Factory Stronic Drei is my sex toy obsession right now. While many toys offer different vibration speeds or patterns, the Drei brings something completely new to the table - thrusting. I see (and test) a lot of toys and the Drei (really, the whole Stronic line) is truly unique but also, totally logical - a sex toy that thrusts of course!

When I first held one of Fun Factory’s Stronic pulsators (because they aren’t vibrators, they’re pulsators) I blurted out "This is the dream!"

As I got to know the line, that statement proved to be entirely accurate. When the Drei came out this fall I fell hook, line and sinker.

Made by Fun Factory, a company with a reputation for producing high-quality products and a policy of backing them with two-year warranties, the Drei is a waterproof, rechargeable toy with a medical-grade silicone body. So, before we even get to how it works, it's clear that this is a quality piece that is built to last and, frankly, it’s just gorgeous. Once you fire it up though, things really get special. It offers 10 different thrusting patterns, which allow you to vary the pace and sensation. The body of the toy is ridged. I found that intimidating at first, but it actually adds a lovely dimension to the thrusting motion. In addition to using it internally for G-spot stimulation I’ve found it to be fabulous externally for simultaneous stimulation of the clitoris and perineum. PLUS you can totally use this toy hands free, Fun Factory even made a helpful PDF guide to doing just that. (Learn more about the power of the perineum in The Female Sex Hotspot You Haven't Heard Of ... Yet.)

Fun Factory Stronic Drei vibrator

So, who would want to receive a Stronic Drei under the tree? How about your partner who loves sex toys but may be hesitant to splurge on a $200 one? Stuff her stocking with the Drei! Or that friend you have who has tried rabbits and bullets and is kind of bored with them all? Absolutely, I predict she’ll be both joyful and triumphant! What about your sister whose vibrator you used to find hidden in her room in high school? Yes! Give her this and she’ll never have a silent night again. Oh! How about your girlfriend who has never owned a sex toy at all? NO. Nope. Don’t do it.

Wait, what?

Make no mistake, as amazing as the Drei is, it is not for beginners. Do not, I repeat do not, buy this as someone’s first toy! Why? The same reason you don’t take the training wheels off your child’s bike and immediately put them on a Harley. This is definitely an intermediate to advanced sex toy.

Read my lips: This is too much toy for someone who is unprepared.

That said, the Fun Factory Stronic Drei is hands-down my favorite new toy of the year and it is a fabulous wish-list item. I suspect it will end up under the trees of many folks who are on the "nice" list ... and probably even more who are on the "naughty" one.
